Early in 2020 Laura's thoughtful children bought a portrait gift voucher so that their Mom and stepdad could get some nice photos of themselves. They were married 4 years ago and didn't have any professional photos taken at that time.
Fast forward to spring of 2021 we began the process of making it happen. Between rain, wind, bugs, travel, and allergies (ain't much we can do to help puffy red eyes!), and many emails and reschedules later we finally got together late August. I had a bad foot injury but decided to make it happen as all the other parameters were perfectly aligned at last!
They live in an amazing house at the top of a hill in Hope River, near Stanley Bridge. The previous owner was a horticulturist, so the landscaping was impressive! Laura asked if I would mind taking the photos out there. Well that was a no brainer! I love doing portraits on location, especially at people's homes or cottages where the background has meaning. They have now put this gorgeous home for sale as they are moving to Alberta where her family is from. Now they will have some lovely portraits to remember their time together at this incredible home.
The next biggest challenge after booking was choosing where to shoot. So many options! We started in a little barn that has the coolest doors as a background and a lovely porch on the outside.

A few close ups by the fence, full length with pretty flowers, field, front porch and more. So fun!
Wishing you both much happiness in the next chapter. Thanks for the great session, oh and lovely bottle of wine. You guys are the sweetest!
